You will be the primary point of contact for scheduling and showing rental properties in and around Baltimore, MD, Washington, D.C., Anne Arundel County and Prince George’s County for a small, rapidly growing home-based property management company. Our company has more than quadrupled in size since beginning in 2006 and I need a right hand team player to assist (and eventually take over) with the leasing division of the company.

Your leasing duties initially would include, but not be limited to:

- daily online advertising (website information provided)
- putting up for rent signs (provided for you)
- emailing and/or calling prospective applicants who inquire about our rentals
- scheduling an open house and weekly showings for each listed property
- collecting applications and assisting with processing of applications
- completing lease signings and collecting security deposits for new tenants
- pre-move in inspections and taking photos of the property prior to move in
- any other assignments that relate to the leasing of the property (meeting with applicants, scheduling property inspections, and various other tasks)

Position starts ASAP. Selected applicant(s) will start on a 60-90 day probationary period. I am seeking highly organized, energetic, professional with excellent people skills. I am looking for someone with an interest in Real Estate/Property Management although it is not required. Must be extremely motivated, self-sufficient, detail oriented and responsible. You must have a flexible schedule and be available to show properties day, evenings or weekends (although you will make your own schedule, must commit to showing a property at least twice a week depending on number of calls/emails received). You will be required to submit a leasing log detailing all contact with potential applicants and tracking your efforts at contacting interested parties. Bonuses, if any, will depend heavily on the leasing logs and your efforts at advertising and scheduling frequent showings.

Please do not apply if you are looking for a full time position. This is strictly a part-time position.

COMPENSATION:

The pay is commission only for leasing. My leasing fee is 50% of the first month's rent collected. The selected applicant(s) will start on a probationary period of 60-90 days, during which time they will be compensated at 35% of the total leasing fee that I collect for the first 2 properties you lease (for example, if you lease a property that is renting for $2,000, my leasing fee collected will be $1,000, of which, your commission will be $350). After the probationary period, your commission will increase to 50% of our fee collected (using the previous formula, instead of a $350 commission of a $2,000 rental, your commission would be a minimum of $500) with potential for discretionary bonuses depending on performance and ability to quickly lease properties.

REQUIREMENTS

Must be willing to travel! (you will need to keep a log of miles traveled for tax purposes, we do not reimburse for mileage)

Reliable transportation (due to the nature of the business, you must have your own transportation, those without a car will not be considered)
